A Collaborative Sketchbook's Journey Around North America
I created the Pass the Sketchbook project because I wanted to collaborate more outside of work. What I didn't expect was the unique user experience problems that need to be solved when trying to communicate instructions through a book.
Users sign up to complete 2 spreads (4 pages) of the book, and are entered into the book's "route". A typical book route is estimated to take about two years. Participant's identities are kept hidden except to the current holder of the book so as to prevent unwanted doxing.
Completed spreads for the book are published to the public Instagram account. So far 4 books have visited 40 participants in 10 different states, as well as Canada.
